Q & A:

  • What was your favorite class, who was your favorite professor, or what is your fondest memory of ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø?
    My favorite class at ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø was Comparative Anatomy. It was taught by Drs. Morrissey and Sanford. My fondest memory of ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø is all the friends I made and, of course, the work-study I performed at the Alumni House.
  • What was your first job after graduating ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø, and what was the most valuable thing you learned there?
    After I left ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø, I went on to earn the Doctor of Podiatric Medicine and then onto residency training at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip.  My first official job was at Country Foot Care.
  • What advice would you give ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø students?
    Study hard, and enjoy everything the University has to offer … whether it be clubs, organizations, sporting events, etc.
  • In one word, how would you describe ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø?
    One word is not enough. Maybe two: awe inspiring. ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø runs in my blood. My mother, two sisters and aunt are all alumni.
  • When you were pursuing your degree in biology, did you know you wanted to be a podiatrist?
    No, not at all. I always wanted to go into the health field and was originally thinking of becoming a dentist. 
  • What is a typical day like for a podiatrist? 
    Each day is different.  I see patients of every age, and with all different ailments. I am also an active attending at Winthrop-University Hospital.
  • What is the most difficult part of your job? 
    I sometimes have to give patients bad news, including telling them that they require an amputation and or have a cancerous type lesion. 
  • Who has most influenced you, and how?  
    My family has always been my greatest supporter. They stand behind me and will always be there to catch me if I fall.
  • Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Where and how do you see your career progressing in the future?  
    It is hard to picture the next 10 years. I like to take one day at a time and enjoy all the spoils that life has to offer.  
Robert Einhorn

Dr. Robert W. Einhorn is a trained podiatric physician currently practicing at Country Foot Care in Mineola and Williston Park, New York, as well as at Winthrop Wound Care, also in Mineola.

Robert graduated from ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø with a Bachelor of Arts in biology in December 2001. He later graduated with academic honors from New York College of Podiatric Medicine in June 2006. His residency, performed from 2006 to 2009, was done at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, New York.

Robert is licensed by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in forefoot and reconstructive rearfoot. He also completed National Podiatric Boards I, II and III licensure.

He has also worked on two studies, Case Study on the Incidence of Dermatofibroma Pertuberans and Retroactive Study on the Fowler Phillips Procedure, which are currently pending publication.
