Art Samansky, instructor for Professional Presentation and Communication Skills

Art Samansky

Art Samansky is the principal of The Samansky Group, a Long Island-based corporate communications consulting firm.

He has trained executives and professionals across a variety of disciplines in presentation, speech, and media skills for nearly 60 years through his corporate communications and consulting roles. He also developed two proprietary coaching programs: Power-Speak© presentation and speech training and In-Control© media training.

Before forming The Samansky Group in late 2000, Art held high-profile corporate communications positions with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the New York Stock Exchange, the Securities Industry Association, HSBC, and Stern & Co.

He began his career as a business and financial reporter in New York City at the New York World-Telegram & Sun/World Journal Tribune and later served as a copyeditor at AP-Dow Jones. He also taught Business Presentation Skills and Business Communications as an adjunct instructor in the School of Business at SUNY Old Westbury.

Art earned a Master of Arts degree in 1977 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1965, both from New York University's evening division.

  • Practice: Develop and refine the core message for an upcoming professional presentation.
Session 2 — October 8

Design for Impact and Deliver with Confidence

  • Create presentation visuals that clarify ideas and support your message.
  • Use voice, pacing, body language, and eye contact to strengthen your presence.
  • Manage presentation anxiety through preparation, rehearsal, and in-the-moment techniques.
  • Keep audiences engaged in both formal presentations and everyday workplace communication.
  • Practice: Deliver a short presentation and apply focused feedback.
Session 3 — October 15

Influence Your Audience and Handle Questions with Poise

  • Build credibility and make persuasive recommendations without overselling.
  • Read the room and adjust your message in real time.
  • Prepare for questions, objections, and challenging audience interactions.
  • Respond clearly when you do not know the answer or need to follow up.
  • Practice: Present, lead a question-and-answer exchange, and leave with a personal communication action plan.
